| How I Work My approach recognises the uniqueness of each person’s circumstances. I offer therapy tailored to your individual experience, and together we shape our work around your specific needs, strengths, and what feels most supportive for you. I aim to offer a safe, warm and collaborative space where you can explore your inner world, understand your patterns and reconnect with your capacity for growth. Much of our work will focus on what you’re experiencing in the present moment; your thoughts, emotions, physical sensations. As you become more aware of what’s happening inside you, you gain more choice in how you respond to difficult situations, rather than feeling caught in old habits or automatic reactions. Sometimes words feel too much, or not quite enough, and creative methods can offer a different way of exploring what’s happening inside. Drawing, collage, clay, sandtray or movement can help you access emotions, memories or insights that are difficult to reach through talking alone. By engaging your senses and the deeper wisdom of the body, these approaches offer new perspectives and support healing in a gentle, embodied way. No artistic skills are required to work creatively. |
| About Me I am an experienced integrative counsellor and recently qualified art psychotherapist. My work is rooted in compassion, curiosity and a deep respect for each person’s lived experience. My background includes working in charity and hospice settings, as well as in NHS secondary mental health services, including a complex psychological interventions service for adults who have experienced complex trauma, and an early intervention in psychosis service. I have experience supporting adults with a wide range of psychological and relational challenges, including traumatic experiences, anxiety, depression, dissociation, OCD and intrusive thoughts, life transitions, low self‑esteem, neurodivergence, chronic pain and work-related-stress. I also have specialist experience in grief and bereavement from my time working in a hospice, where I supported many people navigating the complex emotional impact that follows loss. I am trained in a range of therapeutic models, including gestalt, transactional analysis, psychodynamic, and Internal Family Systems (IFS). I am a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and a member of the British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT). I am fully insured and have regular supervision of my work, in line with the ethical requirements of BACP. |
